    Estonian shield

Hi guys! What it for a sign? It is dug out on a Headquaters 96 infantry divisions Wehrmacht near Leningrad. Whether it refers to Estonian legionaries?

This is not the standard metal shield worn Estonian police units. The fact that its so well made, would suggest some sort of official medal or badge issued in Estonia during the interwar independence period. The owner was a volunteer in German army and continued to wear the award on his german tunic.
