If it wasn't yours and therefore "100% original" I would say that this was an old cig case more humped up than a caravan of camels. Of course I will no doubt be mistaken.

        Cigarette Case

Agree with Ian. Added on engraving which is really poorly executed. The upper jaw of the TK looks like a birth defect.

That's a good one, Ian, which I'm sure will be "100% lost" on the poster. The engraving looks like it was done overtop of that wear...

No chanse by several reasons. The most obvious is post war machine work and the overdoing of it all.

I don't care if it was made yesterday.I would still buy it and might even start smoking again just too carry it.

                      Case

I would have found this more believable.

So how does one tell when an item was inscribed or a piece of wood carved? They use to put the death head on their tanks so why not a cigarette case? Why does everything used by Nazi's have to be made like a Rolex watch to be original? I think it looks better and my original than a couple of high dollar totenkoph flags I have seen for sale recently.

there's plenty of this kind of "artwork" on ebay sold for several 100s of $ I'm sure you'll find one that suits your taste
                          http://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_nkw=....c0.m270.l1313

and they are all from "elite" volunteers...

                              Dr D.

I'm not insulting anyone, and "always" ???? ... the fact that you find this cigarette case aesthetically pleasing it's your personal taste and you'll have to live with it.

The link I posted was to show you that this humped up cr@p is for sale on eBay 24/7 and over the years they flooded the market so much that even the prices went down, years ago the average price was around $500. And these cigarette cases are always from "Elite" units.

Back then there used to be artisan, today a crook with a dremel can make this kind of things on a daily basis. You can also check Germania International for more eye candies...

A unique item like this if even remotely possible to come by should have a bullet proof provenance... and even so It should be verified.

P.S. my father in law is Croatian, I asked him about the name and he said: NOPE.

This said I'm off this thread.
