For a better example, look at Martin Stiles site 'Hannahs Reich'.
He has a set at the top of the first page.
I wouldn't have a clue on how they should be constructed but the pins are very different from your example.

I have had two pairs of real shields over the years, I just sold one. They are slow to move because very few people can figure out what is real and what is not. I think they are cool and greatly undervalued!
