Give it time and we'll find images of the other cuff titles in wear! That a gothic lettered "Nederland" example surfaced already REALLY made my day and strengthens the theory that BeVo "Nederland", Gen.Seyffhardt, DeRuiter were indeed worn as well !
(just like "Landstorm Nederland" also rare but images prove it!)

Just found a site with 62 high resolution pictures of the ones from “Harskamp”

On these, the cuff titles are good visible and there is also a second uniform with a legion Nederland shield, also notable is that the one shown in the thread of NickG (picture 27 in the link) has a Legion Niederlande cuff and the other one a Legion Nederland (picture 23). Also a few Landstorm and a better look at the Germania.

Can somebody tell me what cuff the officer in picture 30 has?

To open a bigger picture there is a link below the pictures that reads: Bekijk een grote versie van de afbeelding (in jpeg)

General Seyffardt and De Ruiter were made by BeVo for EM/NCOs and flatwire for officers, but I can´t recall having seen any of them being worn.

Maybe not exactly what you are looking for, but at least there is photographic evidence that some vets transfered to the Brigade kept their Leg. Nederland / Niederlande cufftitles and arm shields. This particular photo of a dutch Rottenführer of SS-Art. Rgt. 54 was taken in May 1944 at Narwa (PK Eisner).

(Photo from NARA - a big thanks to Marc for scanning these negatives )

            Regards,

Does anyone believe in that Niederlande cufftitle?

Interesting to see the denazified badges and buckles.

What is being worn under the sleeve eagle.I have never seen anything like this used other than a sleeve shield.
                        Cheers
                        Dave.

This is also one frome the same Harskamp collection foto`s. It looks like a Dutch Dachau produced shield.

                              Hello Rob,

Thanks for posting that great picture. Yes, definitely the same soldier depicted here - I think we both know his name (See PM).

I have seen the WO2 Beeldbank picture before but not the other one. That picture was taken before the one that PK Eisner took: note that he is still wearing the Legion's Wolfshook on his collar and he is still a Schütze. On the Eisner pic that was taken somewhere in April / May 1944 at Narva, the national Wolfshook insignia has been replaced by the SS runes though he managed to hold on to his old Freiw.Legion cufftitle and armshield. Apparently he had been promoted to SS-Rottenführer by this date.

Looking at some of the photographs (there are several others to be found at the WO2 Beeldbank website) we can conclude he apparently was an artillery soldier. Quite unusual as Rauter reported in a letter dated June 1944 that actually only 19 (!) Dutchmen served in the SS-Art.Rgt.54. Most of the Dutch Waffen-SS volunteers seemed to have served in the 48th and 49th Panzer Grenadier Regiments.

                              Kind regards,
                              Bert Kossen

                                Awesome thread!

In post 53 the Officer is wearing a "white" bevo officers Landstorm Nederland cuff, which I thought was unique to the Theodore Eicke cuff, or am I seeing it wrong or.... misinformed?

In post 53 again could anyone discern the cuff title the prisoner with medical armband is wearing?

                                regards
                                Simon
