Late War SS Shoulder Boards (good bad?)

Bought these from a collector/reenactor from CA in 1995 that sold his entire collection to me for $750 so he could pay his drug dealer and I've always wondered about these boards. Have two other sets made the same way. Let me know what you think fellas. Thanks, Alexander Raschdorf

I'm not impressed with the quality of these boards.
I would probably have passed on these.
The materials might be right, but the war must have been close!

repro boards imo the basket weave should go all the way to the inside edge, clear close ups might help as well
Give a man an opinion and you feed him for a day,
teach a man to use the "search" function on the WAF and you feed him for a lifetime.

I don't care for them, piping is not what I like to see and the construction looks dodgy as well.

the piping is fine. here's pictures of my some of my original tropical boards with the same piping:

the basket weave pattern of the piping should be the same all the way to the edge as seen in the examples i posted ,the pictures you posted on photobucket are out of focus, and i dont't believe those trop boards are correct either

I would have to agree with Lenny and others that these boards are not kosher. I have an identical set I bought with bad photos off ebay with signals piping rather cheaply. I dug them up and they are identical except piping color.

I consider them fakes in construction, materials, and sewing.

thanks i appreciate the comprehensive reply. helps a lot. those trop boards on the other hand were bought in the 70's from Bob Queen, Eric Queen's father. i have no doubt they are original.

as far as the ss boards i've always had my doubts about them and i've been wanting other opinions for quite a wile. i see lots of boards all the time just like these being sold as original so at times i get my hopes up.

as far as the stitching i'm gona have to disagree. here is an example of original late war boards with stitching that doesn't go to the edge:
