Awesome grouping. Did it come directly from the family?

Interesting to note the piped oberscharfuhrer tab. Was not aware of this configuration.

              It's for SS-Standartenjunker .... an officer cadet rank, a piped SS-Hauptscharfuhrer would be SS-Standartenoberjunker.

Many thanks for the explanation and reference Ian. It was the first time I had seen the rank displayed like that.

Yes, thats kind of interesting to see a SS- standartenjunker with piped collar tabs.
I allways thought, at least from books, like Angolias SS Cloth - and the above reference to Wikipedia - that only the SS-Standartenoberjunker were allowed to wear the officers attributes as a next step SS officer (last step as officer candidate). I have seen no info that the Standartenjunker could wear the piping.

Perhaps as next step would be Standartenoberjunker and they were allready prepared with the piping and waiting for the litzen strip to be attached?

Photo shows this was done and I think I have seen another photo with this collar tab configuration. However thats not the norm, at least according to what references say. Or perhaps I should study more...

A good day is when you learn something new.

I remember commenting on this recently but still had to look it up in an old and dog-eared copy of Bender & Taylor's U,O & H of the Waffen-SS v1 pages 130-132

The 7 would usually be for 7th company.
