    Picture

Can't say for sure what unit. Here’s another image with the same insignia being worn. (Angolia, Cloth Insignia of the SS, 2nd Edition, 1989, Pages 190-91.)

Perhaps someone can identify which branch the B on the strap belongs to. Could not find in Angolia’s book under Waffen-SS or Totenkopverbande.

Perhaps the straps are from the IInd Totenkopf Standarte 'Brandenburg' ?

Has Ian states The shoulderboard does indeed indicate the SS-TV regiment Brandenburg.

            im ok for brandenburg standarte
            thanks gentlemens

but we can see a number in the collar tab

maybe it's not 5 but 3 for the third Hundertschaft
because each SSTv STANDARTE has 4 Hundertschafts !

No, it is definitely a 5.
This man is in the second sturmbann (company) of the regiment. At this time his company would have been comprised of four hundertschaften, numbers 5 to 8.

Interestingly, as one of my eagle-eyed colleagues has pointed out, it looks like the number has been picked out and it is just the trace of it that remains. That would probably place the picture at about 1939/1940.

Here's another picture of same tunic from a Brandenburg SS man.
Note the Roman number 'I', which isn't picked out.
Imo, the picture that started the topic shows a picked out Roman 'I' aswell.

As we all know, the insignia of the Totenkopfverbände, is quit complicated and is for many among us quit unlogic.
I found this interesting text on the internet which gives a better view into their organisation and their used insignia.
