SS visor cap eagle 394 35

Here's a bird I picked up at an estate auction. It is very light in weight, similar in construction to a 155/36 eagle I have. Couldn't find any threads picturing one of these. Does anyone know who manufacturer 394 was?
    Regards,
    Fred

best I could do on the markings, the RZM mark is behind the right prong.

      Hi,

      It could be real.
No one knows the maker, but some believe that these eagles were the first
1936 style SS eagles, (since they are marked 35), but I'm not sure.
All of the ones that I have seen, appeared to be made of CupAl.
It is very possible that they are real.
      Best, Chris

That is a nice looking eagle. I do not recall seeing that maker before, but it seems to be made correctly for an early piece.

Gee I thought that all the 360, 475, 373, etc etc. were fakes, now a 394 that is an original one. Oh wait 499 is Ok too

Keep in mind the 360, 475 and 373 marked pieces that are questionable all have the "SS" runes too...the 499 and the 394 do not,

              Fred.

Looks like a nice early original.

              I presume it's in cupal.

                Robin,

How can you tell if it is made of cupal? My other eagle is worn on the front, and the copper color shows through, so it must be. This one has some copper color to it on the back.

In any event, it is a very lightweight, thin metal. Aluminum insignia seems to be thicker. So if it is light, and thin... cupal?

                Thanks,

                Fred

You can see the aluminum all around the edge if it is CupAl.
