    Dutch SS plaquette

I want to share this dutch SS item. It was given to the family of fallen SS soldiers. As far as I know it's pretty rare. If you guys have one please also post a picture of it. This guy was also a member of the Dutch SS (Germaansche SS in Nederland). His name was mentioned in an NSB yearbook.

I heard from another collector that he knew about 21 known pieces.

                  Hi,

                  Here is pictures of mines.

What I understand is that only around 20 of this plaquettes are known.

The round plaquette for fallen "Jeugdstormers" is even more scarce.

                  Best regards,

                  Rene

Ps did you purchased yours from Mario?

                          HI Rene:

I think I have the round plaquette you mentioned. It is bronze. I read in a book it was some sort of medal for the dead. I do not know where I have it but I know I have it. How much is it worth? It does not have a case.

                            Hi John,

You can see pic of this palquette in the book:

Orders, decorations medals and Badges of the third reich (Volume 2)
                            by Littlejohn
                            Page 114 at the top.

It must read "Hij gaf in Gods vertrouwen - Alles voor 't Vaderland"

He trusted God - Everything for his country

A value is difficult, but not cheap, I ques around Euro 900,00

If you want that this plaquette returned to his homeland please do not hesitate to contact me,I am more than interested.

                            Best regards,

                            Rene

                              HI Rene:

                              Thanks for the information.

I looked at the page you mentioned...sadly I do not have that piece..I have the piece on page 127 at the top...oh well.

The piece you mentioned is surely an impressive plaquette.
