    Some Gruppenfuhrer Tabs

I got these on ebay for not much and I don't see these as fakes in any of the usual places, so I thought I would post for everyone to see. If nothing else, they can go in Gary's pictures of fakes collection. They do not react to black light at all.

genuine SS Gruppenfuhrer collar tabs are unlikely to be found on eBay/ePier and should have cost in the vicinity of US$3,000.

Sadly they are not original. The workmanship and detail are lacking.

But they still look much better than many copies out there.

Like I said to begin with, I don't see copies of this style, so that's what got me interested whether they were original or not. Thanks for the replies. I would love to see an original of this style if somebody has one to post.

              Dear dcdefend,

I believe Bill Shea (Ruptured Duck) has a set or so on his site. As has been pointed out, the detail and workmanship on an original is unbelieveable (no wonder they lost the war, they spent all of their time on such things!)

But you are correct they are a nice set for fillers.

Your right about them looking like SA tabs. When I purchased them, I was thinking that I had seen photos of either Deitrich or Hausser with this pattern. After getting them and looking through all my books, I don't see any pictures with this form. Clearly, the ones posted by Gary and the ones from Bill Shea's site are seen in most photos; however, there is a 3rd SA type style you see, more often on Allgemeine pictures, but the ones I purchased don't look like those either. So why did someone produce these? Another mystery of reproduction SS items.
