I think this other one from the Marshal's Baton is one of the rarest SS "transitional" tunics you will ever encounter. It is also honestly restored with incredibly rare insignia, and priced as exactly what it is. Check out the cut...3 step SS liner.

There have been several threads on this exact, one of a kind, tunic before.

      Another subscriber!
Again from Marshal's Baton. The Dealer description as follows:

      Waffen SS “Wiking” Tunic
Textbook SS factory produced M40 tunic for a Unterscharfuhrer in the 5th SS Panzer Division, “Wiking”. Very nice, even wear to this 5 button, three vent SS produced tunic with a few small holes, most in the back panel. Insignia shows upgrade in rank to nco with the addition of tresse sewn over the top of the bottom edge of both collar tabs. Eagle and cufftitle are period attached as is the EKII buttonhole ribbon. Interior is correct SS style lining pattern with double step angle at bottom, horizontal first aid button closure and pockets sewn through lining. It is also profusely marked with factory and size stampings. Two loops above left breast for a small ribbon bar and two sets of loops on left breast pocket for awards. Great WSS tunic that shows honest wear.........

                  Hi Mauro,

the M40 you posted has a Heer Lining

Anyway this Thread should be pinned since its probably one of the most important threads of the last 10 years!!!

I only see two angles as well. Jacques

i see 3 and if you look on the left one that is not shown completely you see the second one goes down so it would end with a third angle

                          Exactly! You are correct Daniele.
Initially to me it also looked promising as a 2 angle with Heer insignia but eventhough its not very clear its a 3 angle after all!

After the "2" going down in an angle on the left it would go to a "3" parallel with the stitching above the belt hook! (red)

To date no WH badged 2 angles (SS cut) have surfaced... The SS cut liner explanation has not been dispelled and the majority believe it to be a solid rule now!
