            Blow up the photo, you can tell that its a cockade. Very few SS traps in photos as well, infact that would be an interesting thread...field shots of SS trapazoid insignia in use.

              I think it's SS trapezoid as well, Nick. Perhaps I am wrong but it has the shape of the trapezoid. Excellent photo by the way! I wonder where you always find them (I just saw the "Handschar lady" photo that you have posted on Oct. 24 )? Great stuff!

                All I can say is I increased it to 150%, the eagle is a Heer eagle with one angle on the wing tips, the color, etc. And the insignia below looks like a dark circle upon a lighter circle.

                  Agreed! Blown up it does looks like a Heer cap!

                      You guy's probably noticed this, and maybe stating the obvious, the lack of insignia on the uniforms and caps. All very sterile. Except for the M43, (interloper, that's rich!), on the one SS dude. Dave.
