Without a doubt sometimes the inside engraving wears down more than other TK rings. It's not a problem on originallity.

Even tough the ring looks good and original so far on the outside as well where it was put together below the skull i am wondering about the engraving. I own a ring what is worn down a lot on the outside but the engraving is still deep. Here the engraving looks like kind of weak. I also wonder about the Himmler signature part. God shot of that entire part would be interesting.

You encounter this more actually.
In my opinion it's because of the owner lost weight, and the ring turned more on his finger.
Just my 2 cents.
