I'm very sceptical about those unmarked pieces albeit some of them seems to be veteran aquired.

For me only the Hoffstätter and the Gahr.

Only two firms, Hofstaetter and Gahr, were authorized in source material to produce these pins. Based on these facts, not opinion, any unmarked pin is not an authentic piece.

It's a fake. Compare it to a known original and the differences are (well, should be) glaring.

Totally agree with the above.

The only thing I like about these unmarked is the size.

Personally speaking, I prefer the Hoffstätter size but the Gahr quality.

There are lots of examples of the Hoffstätter pins in various threads and it can be a pain trawling through them.

I am wondering therefore, would it not be worthwhile getting a thread started dedicated to the Hoffstätter pins listing serial numbers with a view to getting it stickied?
