Anyone have an original bevo Totenkopf title?

I saw something interesting on a bevo TK title posted on another forum, if someone here has an original, I'd like to see a closeup of the reverse "checkerboard" pattern. Thanks!
    Regards,
    Fred

      Hello Gary,

Aside from checking out the rows of small dots that make up the borders on the reverse, another thing I thought was true was that the number of squares in a row from top to bottom is odd (the color of the top and bottom square will be the same). On the line of reproductions that most of us are familiar with, the number of squares is even (top and bottom squares are different colors).

The TK title that was posted had the normal line of small dots making up the border, but the number of squares was even. I found the attached picture on an earlier thread - it shows a Das Reich as well - both of them have even numbers of squares. There goes my even/odd theory!

Anyway, I checked the couple that I have, and also reference books and postings on the forums:

The following all had 25 squares:
      Adolf Hitler
      Der Führer
      Reichschule-SS
      Theodor Eicke
      Götz von Berlichingen
      SS-Polizei-Division
      Freiw. Legion Flandern
      Westland
      Florian Geyer
      Reinhard Heydrich
      General Seyffardt
      Hohenstaufen (separate NS)
      Horst Wessel
      Landstorm Nederland
      Nederland
      Nordland
      Reichsführer-SS (round umlauts)
      SS-Kriegsberichter
      Ostturkischer Waffen Verband der SS
      Wallonien

      These 2 had 23:
      Frundsberg
      Reichsführer-SS (square umlauts)

      And these had 24:
      Das Reich
      Totenkopf

Anyway, file all of the above under “useless information”, at least until the fakers come up with a way to replicate that line of dots!

      Regards,

      Fred
