Here you go Diers,

Not exactly Ardennes but close... Operation Nordwind, Rohrwiller-Alsace (France) February 4, 1945.
Photo Credit: US Nat'l Archives, period caption states surrendering Luftwaffe troops opposing 143rd US Inf.Reg (34th ID).

Of course in reality its a mixed bag of surrendering LW, SS, Wehrmacht Heer and 1 Pz trooper in splinter parka jacket.
Soldier with glasses wears a 5 button SS tunics stripped of SS insignia (and ditched his cap!)

Note SS DOT PARKA camo pants. Interesting that both soldiers are wearing DOT Parka trousers with a mouse gray reversible jacket!
Picture could have easily been taken in the Ardennes 2 months prior!

I did not realize that Beaver (also) used that image...so its well known now.
That 3rd volume is missing in my library still...remaining on my wish list.

French collector JTavolacci found this image in the Nat'l Archives while reseraching camo uniforms.
It was first published in April of 1992 in the French "Militaria" magazine.
The article by RSpezanno states that its hard to find SS dot Parka images, especially in the West winter 44-45.

None - the Waffen-SS didnt used pakas in the ardennes (only the Heer does).

I believe the same and can't remember seing any waffen SS parkas pictured during the Bulge battle.
Winter parkas and trousers where given a the depot and were supposed to go back to the depot, it wasn't a part of the individual inventory.
