My 1st SS Eagle...

So after a long...well not so long search I found my first SS Eagle at a local gun show. I have been studying them a little and finnally was able to use my knowledge to get this guy for a really good price. My studies tell me that this is an unmarked zinc Assmann.

Now I have to search for a nice Cupal one...

The other cool thing about this eagle is that it is slightly vaulted to form to the visor better...I would photo it but I am a little lazy.

If he was able to use ORIGINAL capeagles ( I agree ) , he must have found quite a large old leftover stock of these .
Did he find any matching skulls at Assmann , i.e. exactly what kind of skulls were used on these Alteste caps .. ?

... the eagles are 100% original as I stated in my post.

The *yawn* is at the constant speculation about the 3-prong skull that many people here seem to have a vested interest in authenticating. I believe now that a single photo has surfaced which may just show this type in use during the war. I am now neutral on the tedious issue.

O.K. Thanks Ian - I took it the wrong way. Now I understand what you were hinting at regarding the 3 prong eagle.
3 prong skull I know nothing about - sorry not my field.
