Is this authentic, DLV SS/SA ???

Hey guys, I need help on this insignia. I have seen these around on different sites for sale and never knew if it was a period piece that was worn.

Is this insignia authenitic? If so, what is a decent price range that these usually sell for?? Is this particular badge real??

I have never seen that one, but it looks so shoddy and poorly executed that I would venture to say that it is an outlandish fake, without any hesitation!

I take it you have already seen the picture in Littlejohn's .. ? Reproductions seem to be missing the 2 outer wire borders ..
