    SS stick pin...need opinions..thanks

one of my friends who had a small and ecclectic group of TR items had decidedto get out of it and gave me a bunch of odds and ends to sell for him, a few daggers, some cloth and this stick pin, any way, I ended up with this and a few other items for free for selling the rest of his stuff....I know nothing about SS items, I collect em/nco buckles........the stick pin has a nice patina, you cant tell from the photos, but about half of the pin shaft is twisted metal not smooth, and there is a recess on the back of the pin with raised letters ges geschplease see the pics and let me know your thoughts...thanks...chad

        sorry about the photos

the photos are not the best, and the flash kinda made the photo of the back of the pin look really shiny.....I dont know for sure, but the shield part of the pi looks to be made of brass , and looks to have had a nickle silver or chrome wash on it, it is still visible in areas, same with the front, the runes look like they were silvered originally also if you look on an angle, it appears that the silvering has just mellowed over time...I have no clue on this one, although I can say the=at the craftsmanship on this pin is excelent...far greater than what I would expect from a repro ...thanks for your thoughts in advance...chad

                    fantacy piece

no disrespect to the lads out there but why do you dismiss anything youve not seen before as a fantacy ? any serving or ex servicemen or women will know officers regulary commision private purchase items to stand out from us other ranks. why the ss any different? regards phil.

                      Phil,
No disrespect taken, the item above is something i have seen before, there was a ss stick pin for wear on your civilian cloths and this is no where near it
                      cheers,
                      Gary
