You have a good memory Besslein... thanks for the "compliment"...
For the benefit of other readers ...it was an Army 6 button M42 with added M36 dark green collar which was restored to waffen SS by a previous owner and sold to me completely stripped...

So because of the insignia application damage (ghost insignia scarring) i had no choice other than re-restoring it to Waffen SS...
This branch did occassionally use army pattern uniforms ,especially among the Freiwilligen units...hence the Handschar choice. So its really not too far fetched....Of course 99% of the SS uniforms out there have been restored (or fabricated...or as you call it Frankensteined...) but thats just the way it is...and I can live with that...maybe you can not? What ever fits your budget I guess...as long as we're enjoying the hobby...(within our financial means..)

At least for this project I will be using what appears to be an original early Waffen SS M36 tunic and adding original insignia. (just like many of the big dealer offers that are out there often claimed to be untouched...).
You would have done the same no doubt. Right?
                  Nick

PS: Richard; I will certainly be able to show it to you in person at one of our So.Cal. WAF events! You bet!

Maybe our friend B is a bit pissed off because he missed this oppertunity.....
anyway he also knows his stuff but I am pleased that this tunic will be in good hands soon and restored as it deserves to be. Some call this frankensteined, others call it 'put togethor' but most call it a restored m36 jacket with added original insignia.

So long as you don't invent a Hans Christian Anderson fairy tale to go with it ey Nick

Well, everyone should be pissed about it :-) , especially if you were nr 2 with your mail.

I was curious who got it but also wanted to check if it was a real sale, because as you all know, this sounded too good to be true.

Nick, good luck with that tunic, and KEEP it, it a very nice tunic and its nice it has gone to somebody who will give it lots of TLC.

                        Cya around !!

Great deal - the E-stand is really a great market place!

I am also looking forward to more pics in future.

                              Happy collecting.
