Dug up condition, original, but nothing valuable

How can you possibly tell from whats left if it is original or not?
Not a catch that I'm familiar with on original badges.

By specific condition. You can't make artificial zinc oxidation, to have exact this look.
I have seen them in the late 80's - they was found in bunches with other rare numbered assault badges found somewhere in the KAliningrad/ Koenigsberg area

Oxidation? Looks like something broken into many pieces to me. Plus the snakes appear to be deliberately damaged to eliminate any characteristics that could make comparisons possible ...

Well, the oxidation that was strong enough to take chunks out of the obverse and split the badge in two seems to have been to weak to even touch the catch and the reverse in any way shape or form.

Some times zinc alloy became to the white oxid powder due oxidation and the badge is keeping shape only due the fat layer of the non oxidized bronze coat. But even a original- it cost nothing for me
