Yes, he seems to be one experienced soldier. The medals tell some story.

Very clear and nice shot of the BeVo HvS cuff title.

Also a cloth eagle on the visor....

As far as I know, only the two regiments Norge and Danmark wore the sun wheel collar tab, and then only some individuals.

No, I donĀ“t know that. You have to try to find someone who has studied Hermann von Salza!

When I was researching this unit Per Kjolner, the adjutant of HvS (up to the "Kinderheim" battle) told me that the HvS CT was not worn during his time with the unit which was up until October of 1944. Most of the fellows wore either Wiking or Nordland CT's (if any at all). Stubben wore his Germania CT throughout the entire war even when assigned to Wiking prior to his official transfer to command the StG detachment of HvS. I don't believe the HvS CT's were worn much at all. The Sturmgeschutz Kompanie "Stubben" was totally destroyed in Oct. of 44. Per Kjolner and another Norwegian Officer were released from duty and allowed to return home by H. Himmler after reporting the status of the Latvian front, having been sent to Berlin by Thomas Hvistendahl in the hope that the unit be allowed to retreat to Berlin in order to build up a better defense of the city. Of course Himmler said no and the rest is history.

BTW: Obersturmfuhrer E. R. Stubben (DKiG) is my avatar photo (Graduation photo from 1938).

                                ..

I tend to agree, very rarely worn in my opinion....have never seen a worn example only minty ones.

Nice thread btw, thanks for the information.
