        Collar Tab

Very nice original. The Deutschland tab with the numeral “1” was inaugurated in September, 1935. Piping for both NCO/EM tabs was ordered removed in 1940. The same for numerals/letters on tabs for all ranks.

Thank you for the feedback. Just so I'm clear the piping and numbers were ordered removed at the same time? Or is my example just missing the piping?

                      Piping

Ordered removed the same year but under different directives. For NCO or EM tabs, it would have had the alternating black/aluminum piping. Does it show any sign of piping being attached, or being uniform removed? The tab could also be an officer's, never completed. It has interesting thread work on the reverse lower left corner.

Here are a few other pics from the side. It appears to me that there is some stitching on the right side where it sewn to a uniform IMO. There are a few strings in other locations. Not sure how piping was attached so maybe you could tell from the side pics. As for being an officer I will have to rely on other forum members.

Great photos of a very very nice collar tab! I will hopefully be able to use this thread as a reference when I find one to buy! (and can afford )

                            Regards,

                            Jeff
