    ss gebirgsjäger ?

I got this cap from an old house in Slovenia. I believe it is
summer ss bergmutze. What do you think?
    Thank you.

Very interesting bergmutze, material seems like summer cotton cloth, edelweiss is original, no doubts whatsoever , the front is a bit unusual for a single button bergmutze but there were a lot of versions so IMO the cap looks genuine but i cannot see any signs of tk & adler, would like to hear other opinions as well

I could entertain a doubt based on that is is not a knowed one, no stamping or code, no matching wear internal/external/edelweiB, no marking of scull or eagle, and all other objects posted by you is fake or post war.
I hope you did not buy it.

I did not buy it because i got it from old house. Material is canvas like on german tornisters. Maybe it is privat made??

The edelweiss is there and it is very much real, because it doesn't have stamps and just because it looks odd , which i mentioned doesn't necessarily mean it is a fake, that is a possibility but until proven a fake it is just an opinion, there were privat purchases that were not 100 % standard and yet they are genuine, just my thought !

Give a man an opinion and you feed him for a day,
teach a man to use the "search" function on the WAF and you feed him for a lifetime.

OK, i agree, the cap is totally odd but the only thing that confused me was the original edelweiss other than that i am in doubts as well, who knows, could be a local made cap used as a replacement for a lost one, maybe sounds funny but could easily be in this case, as i said, who knows ...

Any other opinions? I know that cap is unusual but i think it is interesting and original cap. Does anybody have pictures of some other summer bergsmütze?

I have all books on the Gebirgsdivisionen of the Waffen-SS, let me make some scans, many pics and IMO this is a field made cap which makes it even more interesting to me even though the average collector doesn't see a value in it but nevertheless a good cap

No, it is sewn just through the pull down flap:
