    Platane Nr. 6

I have two tent with platane 6 print. One is without the number.
What is the earier pattern? I heard that the on without number is a later variant, but the print is imo earlier.
Is the one with the number 6 an original one?

The one without nr is the "early pattern the one with nr.6 seem also like early but probably made later..(ref MDB book).
The early one is very similar and hard to see diferents from plantree pattern nr. 5 i think.
        Both seem original and nice.

Both patterns originated in around the same time (ca. 41/42) and weren't short-lived. The 6 is an item from ca. late 43 - midd 44 and is an overprint (means that it has an oakleaf background).

The other one is a "no number" plane tree. That is a variant of the 5/6 pattern but with no numbers and several other uniques aspects. In order to learn more about that pattern I recommend the upcomming book of Mark Steacy and Werner Palinckx on german ww2 zeltbahnen. This book will cover the pattern in detail.

It is my belief that the "no number" plane tree originated in around 42 or maybe even 41. I would need to see more pics of your "no number" zelt in order to tell when ca. it is from.

          Cheers

I'd need to see close-ups. Does it have steel buttons? It looks like that. The grommets seem to be made of zinc.

From what I can see it's a ca. midd 1944 zelt.

Earlier variants than yours are known.

              Cheers
