    SS Armband variation/Original?

    Hello,
I'm new to wehrmacht awards, but decided to get this check out here.
I bought this from a well known dealer, I wont say any names. He told me it is 150% original and a third reich/ SS artifact.

I have noticed that the ribbing on the black rayon runs horizontal instead of vertical. I'm told this is a variation from the maker.

So far a lot of SS collectors have told me a range of things.

    What do you think?

        NDShooter,

Welcome to the forum and like you I am new to the forum.

I have very limited experience in this field however I believe that a paper label on an SS armband may be a red flag!

Wait for the more experienced members to give their opinions.

I have included a link to an armband I submitted for inspection and paper labels on an SS armband was mentioned at posts 10, 11 and 12 by very experienced members in this area of collecting so this may give you a better idea for your own armband:

        Hope this helps
        Best Wishes

Well, every expert I have contacted said that the SS use paper tags for lower ranks and toward the end of the war.

Paper RZM tags are not a red flag in the case. The most common original SS armbands have paper tags.

Apologies if I confused the issue here and passed incorrect information!

I was only going with the information I received earlier in relation to my own posting as per the link.

What I took from the information posted on mine was that paper labels were not a good sign on SS armbands! Obviously that is not the case.

"Everyday's a school day" as they say! Especially for me on WAF!

                Apologies again

Paper tags used after about 1938, cloth before. I like this armband, and have seen this variation before and wish I had made note of the manufacturer number...
