From the one picture provided it looks good, better pictures will tell more. It has all the tell tale signs of being right..... These are great value for the money IMO, allthough only seen a couple of period photos of these in use. These are soooo warm, i used to sleep in one of these downstairs in winter during my divorce.. As a G.I., I would have been a little worried of being shot by my own men wearing one.

The picture I believe is of US army officers in the Ardennes wearing the captured parkas. It is one of only a couple I have ever seen of them in use, one of the others is of a Hitler Youth in captivity wearing one of these. Regards, Johnno.

is a very interesting foto , in my opinion , for some reasons.

1. in war was others problems..... not ours collectors problems or ideas

2. foto with two youngs G.I. make from Ameican reporter....

3. is very difficoult to find german foto in late war, with late war equipement
may be german troops were without camera and with many other problems.

4. is a very late war parka, used in the last winter of war and only six mounths later was the end.

5. is a good parka only for an WSS mannequin in winter 44/45 but in WAR
and the conditions are really nice, perfect and from depot.

6. now with internet we have a very big foto archive

I think the photo shows Lt. Col. George Stevens on the left. Shot color film during the war. Went on to direct the classic Shane. Could be wrong, of course, but it looks like his profile.

This jacket is 100% original. It reminds me to my parka which i had have a few years ago. Does this one came from Holland?

It could be that their is a size marking on the inside of the back of the parka behind the fur lining at the bottom area. At least my parka had a size 3 marking.

Beautifull parka with beautifull colours
