    A late war SS cover

    Hello,

I just wanted to share my last entry a cool late war SS cover.
Oak leaf camo, size 1 with an interesting feature:
The size is ink stamped with head size (5...) and the cover size also (1).

    Greetings,

    Phil.

Thank you for your comments folks.

                      ACHTUNG,
                      It's a size 1 cover.
There is a faint "1" and head size ink stamped at the front, automn side.

By the way, a detail of one hook , anodyzed aluminium.

                      Phil.

I think he meant what shell size the helmet is, "1" is for 60 and 62 shells.

Of course it depends on the cover whether you can put it on the size of shell that was the maximum size for it back then or not.

Means that I wouldn't put a cover on the maximum possible size, it might do the cover no good. With a cover that is still solid one can do that but there is always a risk that it seems more solid than it is. Back then they forced size 1s on 66 shells when there were no other sizes available.....After 70 years I wouldn't recommend that.

                          Sorry, misunderstood the question.

This cover is place on a 64 size shell for photo purpose.

                          Cheers,

                          Phil.
