I honestly do not know on the SS-panzer shoulder boards. They are not standard RZM boards, but therte seems to be many non-regulation shoulder boards that are original. There seems to be many private purchase Heer shoulder boards that I have seen posted, on the forums, as original.

I post, here, two shoulder boards. The first is a private made SS board that was brought back with a LAH ship on cypher. The second board is a standard RZM board that has Luftwaffe tresse applied. Both are direct US vet purchases.

In the land of the blind, the one eyed man is king.

Duct tape can't fix stupid, but it can muffle the sound.

thanks Bob for sharing.. i agree non-regulation private purchase shoulder boards must be considered as in any other area of the hobby.

The thing that really bothers me about the boards posted by Gisle is that the button key holes completely lacks the bar tacking at the end of the loops. I have never seen this trait before on any other verified originals. That alone would make my shy away from these boards. Key holes on original boards or straps comes in two versions, proper key holes with bar tacking, or slits (lacking bar tacking).

the boards in question look as if they have woollen piping. is this never seen in ss boards?? i know its not favoured but have originals ever been encountered?? the luft tress [or is it early ss?]i'm sure has been seen on originals....
I like the construction but the fact the reverse seems more 'aged' than the front does concern me!!
                              HELP!!!!
