    ss sunflower

    Hi,
I want to share with you this photo because IMHO it's very interesting the coverage of tabs and cuff....it's the first time I see; ususally I've seen on boards, to cover numbers or unity symbols but never on cuff and tabs. And never on ss soldier...but I haven't seen it all, of course!
I hope you enjoy it and comments are welcome.
    Thanks in advance

    Stefano

      eagle

      Thanks for posting!
You certainly noticed the covered cuff title a collar tabs, when I focused on the rather rare 1st style sleeve eagle. Well done! The removal as well as part covering has been seen before.

The great eagle debate, if there were 1st style pattern eagles like the eagles used by Reichsbahn (with eagle facing left), has been going on for a long time. This eagle seems to be facing right as well. It is a possibility it is on grey/green, or perhaps at least not black backing cloth. That would be a rare colored backing material. Could still be black as it is hard to judge from a photo, but it seems not to be real black.

          Yes, LSSAH in Poland 1939.

Argh, I bought most photos of this series. You were the
one who snatched this one away from me!!!! ;o)

Interestingly the individual who took these photos later
was a comrade of another LAH pioneer who's group I
          have!

Enjoy the picture it's nice and well taken!
