Rottenführer Chevron

I recently acquired this chevron. I haven't seen any 'subdued' ones. It is black (although light in the photos). Any opinions?

Looks like a salty Tropical chevron.

If it is a tropical, it doesn't have the interwoven black stripe to both the outer and inner edges.

No, it definitely does not have the black lines. The tresse is a dull grey (almost tan) and definitely not silver.

Thank you for all of the comments. Since it doesn't have the black lines in the grey (faded to beige) on black wool, I'm going to call this one a panzer obergefreiter.
