The two rows are there because that how they were constucted,if you encounter a one row its either HOMEMADE or BAD.16 out of 16 including both of ours is good odds Id say and the 100 plus others here that are good with 2 rows ONLY.you will not find one made correctly with one row,its the nature of the construction,or it was made wrong when reproed.Ive taken the time over the last hour to try and find a fake one rower for an example,fake one rows are even hard to find,because good repro men know they are wrong now. out of the many,many threads I knew there wasnt one,I only found two fakes deemed fake with one row..ALL teh good ones I looked at have 2 rows,see for yourself.

I have never seen a good one,out of teh hundreds of ss armbands Ive seen or handled.

Its been fun Peter maybe someday one will turn up! happy collecting!

Hey guys, I checked all 3 of mine that are wool and they all have 4 rows,,only the cotton one I posted up for review has one row,,,hope this helps somewhat

Still, the weave of the red wool is not right for this application...see the parallel lines running through it? It should be more of a 'basket weave' pattern...

I don't like the wrinkling to the red wool behind the disc. To me that indicates the wool is too thin. Could be a manufacturing quirk, but I haven't seen one this wrinkled.

I would not own the armband in question. I don't like the materials, especially the round (not oval) roundel that is placed incorrectly with the ribbing running horizontally. Could it possibly be genuine? Sure. But it is certainly not "textbook".

This is supposed to be an RZM armband. I currently own 6 of these. One is mint, unissued with a (small) cloth tag. Two others have paper tags. The differences in the construction and materials on these armbands is minute. They all have 2 rows of stitching per stripe. They all have the ribbing aligned vertically. This was one purpose of the RZM: uniformity.

I have a few political armbands and I can't recall ever seeing one with the ribbing aligned horizontally. If anyone can post a pic, please do so.

I learned a long time ago that with SS, if it can't be proven to be 100% real, then I don't want it. If it has to be defended, then you are taking your chances. I think Peter just likes to yank people's chains. He loves to argue and defend questionable items, but, so far, he has yet to post one that he actually payed good money for. Most likely he is a closet defense attorney.

No biggy. Here is a political band with an RZM tag. The ribbing is horizontal.

Sa party armband most definately exist with horizontal ribs,have had many,discussed this point with Erich her before and Bob Coleman, mnay SA collectors have them in there collections cotton and wool,this tunic has one,and is VERY real!!and very nice!my favorite tunic in my collection.SA DENTIST on Staff of Neiderrhein.

Since we have stripeless SS armbands found at Dachau, I suppose it is possible that this is a poltical armband with stripes. Seems only fair.
