OK, let me try this again. I've had this tab since 1970. Any thoughts on its authenticity? Thanks.

Gary, I am not 100% sure but I wouldn´t buy this numbered tab. The revers look different for a typical early numbered tab, and also the runes and angles or not very nice done.

                  More opinions Please

I have to agree with Rob. The SS is not quite parrel with each other and I can't quite figure out if the number "2" looks wrong? It just dosen't look right. Is the backing right? Seems the burlap is too fine? Any more opinions out there? Just my very humble opinion. Steve

                    Gary,
Your tab looks hand embroidered is it aluminium wire? The backing looks like felt the type encountered on fakes in the 60's, there are a lot of differences in this particular regiments collar insignia as can be seen from photo's.

From what i have seen above i would also pass on this tab, I would prefer better pictures if possible when you get time.
                    Cheers,
                    Gary
ps below is an orignial hand embriodered tab, although not all look like this example

I agree with Gary the numbered tabs for the officer or EM/NCO versions are original found in some different styles like in the runes or the numbers, thick numbers thin numbers. Then also it is interseting to check out period pictures with all their styles.

Thanks everyone for your sharing your wisdom.

I bought it at a collectors' show in Minnesota in 1970 when I was only 15 years old.

                            Robin & Gary,

                            congrats for your nice tabs.
I look all the time to get a numbered EM tab with a #1 without any piping...
                            maybe at the MAX.
