          Michael,

As I'm interested in learning more on these helmet covers what exactly gives it the thumbs down?

            Hello Rich,
I always look at the clips first then everything else, They dont have the "crimp" which should be there, material and wear is next which is also wrong,

Michael is right. The clips are bad reproductions. Original clips have a very unique crimping mark where the rocker is positioned. However the material is good.

Look at the Schiffer book titled "Camouflage Uniforms of the Waffen-SS" by Michael Beaver. He shows some nice close up shots of the real clips.

Its a cover for Reenactors . Not original WW 2.

                Sorry my friend.

Aye, I agree, I thought as much myself, but he wanted another opinion.

                  All the best

                    Hey Remy,
Material to me looks very flimsy in the photos, not like a real zeltbahn,

After years of collecting and also handling of many nice original SS zeltbahns I have found that 95% of them are made from this medium to light weight material. The material used on SS zelts is the same used to make this repro helmet cover.
