It is sewn on kinda sloppy, and not the usually zig-zag way

Need a better scan, but from what I can see the eagle looks ok.

If the eagle is good..and I have no problems with it...I would say that it was added after the war to the piece of cloth to enhance value.

                thanks guys,
I too can't find any known repros like this, and have a couple of originals, on file, that could be this one's twins.
I think I can remember a thread not long ago, mentioning that not all were zig-zag stitched, is that true? I can't see any reason why it couldn't be period sewing, although a bit crooked!
any more thoughts, before my wallet creaks open?
                thanks again guys

The eagle looks original to me. I have no problem with the stitching being straight.

                  Cheers.

The picture is not very clear , but I must say : I don't like it , looks like a repro to me

Thanks Tony and Peter, I'm in agreement so far. (without having it in my hands)

Hardigan, could you post a pic of the similar repro? I'd be interested to see it.
                        best regards

                          Hi again,
                          here's Hardigan's 100% original eagle(bottom), against mine(top)
I'll have even better pics next week. I want this to be a 'without-a-doubt' purchase!
                          regards

The picture I send to Jon above is from an other Forum and came from a US- Veteran , I think that Jon's eagle is a copy of this one .The embroidery is more thigther on originals , that's what I always see on them !

very nice eagles. I would say it is an earlyier eagle style.
