SS Camo Jacket made out of Smock

I just got this tailor made SS jacket made out of a smock. It seems period made in my opinion. Shows some good wear. One can see where the foliage loops were removed, also where the waist adjustment was removed and of course the original pockets and sleeves. Jacket even has snaps for the top neck closure and reverse back skirt.
Just wondering what model smock it originally was? And what type of camo is this? Planetree?
    Thanks.

This is the so called "no number" plane tree pattern. I am not sure that item was a smock, at best the front section was. The sleeves are not those of a smock, reworked or not.

Better pictures would be good. The material is original though.

absolutely a beautiful jacket - In trying to figure out how this was made, can you post a photos of the inside back facing out when it is on the manniquin.

It doesnt look like there were loops on the back or top of the sleeve - Correct?

Whom ever made this was an extremely experienced tailor and knew how to cut, tailor and sew a garment perfectly.

            Cheers

oh and to answer your question - like Fritz said - without question original Planetree fabric.
This is a very interesting piece

Thanks, I thought it was pretty cool.
I will take some more photos this weekend so that may answer your questions.
I agree it was really expertly made.

I like this very much. There are many original photos of custom made or altered camo uniforms. It makes a great compliment to an SS uniform collection. I would love to find one like this.

                        Custom

I too am a Fan of the Custom made Camo wind jackets. Many were very nicely tailored and form fitting. I like them with large Lapels and other features.

Beautiful piece... I love those custom made cam items.

Here is one of mine made out of Italian camo with faint traces of a arm eagle.

Looks like a beautiful Fieldmade camojacket in Planetree, I agree with Fritz, I dont think this garment are converted from a single smock. The Germans had a lot of skilled tailors making beautiful jackets, caps and pants. According to my late rottenfuhrer in 8. pioneer regiment Germania, they custom made all sorts of uniforms as long as they had scrap uniforms, zelts and cloth. I have 2 fieldmade jackets and in my opinion, they are even more hard to find than smocks.
                            Best regards, Tom
