        Armband

Definite reproduction. RZM tag is bogus. Swastika construction is also deficient.

Thank you. I will say that I was very surprised to see this tag on this armband. This came in a lot from a vet's family, with most of the other items already reviewed and proven to be authentic. I am unsure about this armband and one other out of the lot.

This is the printed variety. Are you indicating the deficiency in the Swastika is evident in the printing?

Lots of fakes come from veterans' families.

Yes, that is true. Unfortunately, I think the families are unaware. In this case, it is very possible that this was picked up shortly after the war because the vet stayed in Germany during in occupation that followed. I know many "old" fakes were produced in that time period.

I'm not trying to dispute authenticity. I have no money invested in this piece, just trying to make sure my personal collection is good.

                Thanks guys.

In my opinion the tag and probably the armband date to the early 70's (note the 'der NSDAP' part is missing from the tag). Even Vet's familys lie.

Many times I don't even think its a case of lying ( although sometimes it Certainly is)

But over the 50-odd years many vets that brought stuff home or had stuff were given other pieces by friends who knew they "liked it" or as we like to say "won in poker games". In the "WW2 Ltd." catalog from the 1970's there were actually many real things being sold, although there were also many reproductions being peddled without any distinction between them.
