The early embroidery wasn't as standardized, and was often a little more "sparse" than the later examples. All you have to do is look at the early Allg. numeral tabs to see examples of this type of execution...

We are told that the hand embroidery in these cuff bands are always unique in some way. I have never seen the execution of the "Adolf Hitler" name in this fashion, but that does not make it a bad piece. The work seems consistent with original hand embroidery.

Could you post a picture of the reverse for us?

If all of the hand done AH bands looked exactly like yours, we would be throwing out many good cuff titles. Yours is beautiful, no doubt, but not all good original AH cuff bands look like that. I think the example posted has a good chance of being original. Using the collar tab to compare hand embroidery patterns was a good idea and a good example.

Don't misunderstand me Peter, because I really don't know a lot about these, I offered one for comparison, not an attempt to sway opinion one way or the other.

Gentlemen , I am really grateful for your posts . I know that my photos may not be the best but this cufftitle is attached to a sleeve of a tunic and sadly I cannot fully show the reverse . Please keep your posts coming , thanks.
