First model Plain tree Helmet cover

In 1985 a dealer friend of mine picked this up attached to a M40 SD helmet for the 'princely' sum of £25,I swopped him a Luftwaffe officers tunic for the H/C and he sold the helmet to some body else.A week later the helmet was back in his shop,as the previous buyer had had a bill in and could not afford it and got his money back and I was able to re-unite them back together.

Very nice, I have also had one such combination before (army helmet (M35 DD) + ss type 1 cover).

You will also find this "setup" in period pictures (army personal wearing ss covers (and vice versa).

A nice worn ca. 1941-42 5/6 pattern cover you have there.

        Cheers

I agree... It looks like a nice "a bit salty and faded" original SS cover.
