    SS Bevo Insignia and Unknown Bevo Patch

    SS Bevo Insignia and Unknown Bevo Patch with Fasces (Italian SS or ?)...B&W photo is of the WWII collection this group came from and patches are shown in the upper center portion when the collection was diplayed during or shortly after WWII...The patches and insignia in the photo were sent by GIs from all over in response to a Stars and Stripes article about a small girl who collected patches . Ed

      Felix, No question the pieces are genuine and the one with cross may be French...I just haven't seen the other insignia in my references. thanks, Ed

        Agreed on the SS patches, the cross is 'Free French'. Sorry I can't help with the last one.

          The unknown patch IMO is ww2 Italian for sure..I m betting its a silhouettte of a sub or naval vessel

              Indeed an Italian GIL youth patch. The green is heavily faded... (Italian colors ; Green/White/Red)
              Neat that these can be seen on the period display picture! Now that's what I call solid provenance!
