I'd appreciate your comments and opinions on this Allgemeine Cap, prior to offering it on e stand. The cap was found wrapped in a 1970s newspaper in an attic in England, very recently. I have little doubt the cap is genuine but I would value your thoughts on both the cap and the insignia. The colour of the scull is unusual and the eagle may be from some other service. The cap does look as though it carried a larger eagle at some time. General condition is very good and without moth but missing the sweatband.

I agree with Besslein. If you go for it, make sure that the price reflects the condition.

Where is the RZM stamp that goes on the visor underside?

The visor is original, but not to this hat. The original visor along with sweat band are long gone. It could be a lot worse. This hat can still be brought back.

The skull is a very nicely worn Deschler ... this has worn through to the base copper layer. The eagle is one of the generic party patterns and could be worn by a variety of party organisations ... it's not that unusual to see odd-ball eagles on Allgemeine-SS caps.

The value of the piece is in the skull to me.
