It's more than just 'denazified',,it's been cut short.
It can be restored more [more meaning the chain must have been added if the eagle was cut short] by replacing that eagle as they do sometimes appear,,but the lenth would kill it for me at that price.....

Are you doubting its originality or asking people if you should spend you money on it !!?

        Cape

I think the length may have been variable based on the owner preference.
The clasp is really rare. A nice piece IMO.

No i mention I know its legit, just wanted any thoughts on price or anything really, sorry to be vague.I thought price was relatively cheap being what it is.Also feel the officer wanted it shortened to be more dashing?I mainly collect SA and PL organisations, although I started with SS and have a decent grasp of it,this would be a higher dollar piece for me so just wanted opinions on price, and anything else one can add.

              Umhang

Buy it and fix the Eagle. DaveJ has a nice one.

Very rare SS Umhang and that is an understatement. If you find a perfect one you know what that's going to cost???

The cape length would be relative to the height of the owner, IMO that is not an issue, it if was a shelf item it may have even been done period. Very nice rare item even without the complete eagle

Good, I am glad to see someone gets money back from them. They should name a ship or a building in Washington after me.

Not commenting about this one in paticular, but heard a story about 15 years ago, maybe more that someone bought about 6 capes from the Vatican, and ripped out there labels, and added sleeve eagles.
How true this is, i'm not sure?
Anyone else hear the same story?
                        Regards,
                        Gary

                            too late?

The Vatican had a "Cape Sale" and I missed it? Darn, I must have thought it was a "Cake Sale".

haha cake sale, I want to see a buxom blonde, topless and in a bikini wearing that darn thing!!!

either way the clasp alone is worth the money and then some, when do you see it come for sale?
