Value Tom....I am the wrong person to ask but if I owned it I would never ever sell it...Ive searched half my life for one like it that I felt good about 100% and have never found one..this one never was for sale when I was buying.

John, thanks for your comments. I didn't know this was shown in one of Beaver's books, but I will sure check that out. The previous owner of this tunic is a forum member, and maybe he would be kind enough to fill in its history from the time he got it.

Heer issue tunic upgraded to officer. The question is was it manufactured for use by the ss or were the owner transferred from the Heer to the army. The first seems the logical answer in view of the absence of signs of a breast eagle and the ss em sleeve eagle. An amazing flow of history in one piece, the promotion of the owner and the areas of deployment (Demjansk shield). I don't think the DF was deployed around demajsk pocket. Maybe the owner was Totenkopf and them transfered. Fascinating piece. Jacques

Men transfered units throughout the war so the Demjansk shield does not bother me...a story from a veteran I knew..he gave me two daggers and SS chained and a government officials and an SS brocade belt. He told be he once had a tunic but sold it to a friend in the late 50s for Halloween. He showed me pictures of himself wearing the tunic during post war occupation,he was in intelligence. This tunic could very well be one and the same as it had the Demjansk shield and was a DF tunic..it was so long ago though that I cannot remember all the details of it.
