    SS Uniforms at SOS

Here is a thread of SS uniforms I saw, and I am sure there were more, at SOS. It's hard to get pictures, but I hope everyone will enjoy what I got. I wish I could label with owner/business, but I can't.

Man, some look like they have potential and I know the better dealers have real examples but for most of them- I can hear all the sewing machines humming away.

Incredible how almost every SS uniform is sporting a cufftitle!

What stuck me, and I am no expert, simply a student, was the pips on the SS collar tabs whether they were being sold separately or on the uniforms. So many, alleged as real, were clearly post-war. I took one of mine that I consider the correct type for pre-war SS collar tabs and tried to find some to buy, but had no luck. I would have bought just the rank tab if I could have found one with these, but saw none.

looks like more fakes than originals...

No one is an expert, if someone tells you that they are an expert you are dealing with a certifiable boob. The pips are tough to find, most people remove them from political and other insignia to restore or create SS tabs etc. Stuff that looks mint spanking brand new should not be dismissed right away as fake. A lot of the original loose insignia like pips and board devices which survived is stuff from factories etc. and is almost all mint.
