Hi,
I recently bought some SS Reconn boards from Peter Jenkins in the UK. I'm not supposed to be collecting at the moment (!) but was tempted by the reasonable price as they are quite worn with some damage to the piping. Though if I ever need to restore a (worn) tunic they'll look fine I think.....
The nap of the black wool is more worn on one of the boards, that one also has more dirt and grime on it, however the physical wear on the piping is about the same. I'm thinking they have period wear, but were subsequently stored one on top of the other for a lengthy period of time? Underneath, the nap of the field-grey wool seems less worn under the tongues - period tunic wear? Look forward to your comments.
(BTW - they look very much a golden-yellow in the flesh, the pictures make the piping look more yellow than they are.)
