    SS Insignia from an English veteran... any good?

    Hello Guys,

    I got this SS insignia from an English WW2 veteran.

    My knowledge about these SS items is close to zero so
    you guys have to help me here...

    What do you think?

        He hasn't mentioned anything about these so I guess he purchased them
        postwar based on your answer.

              These date to the early 70's or shortly before, possibly picked up from second hand markets, carboot sales and the like.

              It's not that common for UK vets to bring back German (let alone SS) relics, it was strictly forbidden to loot enemy property and anyone caught with such plunder was likely to lose their leave.

                        Glad You see it also Nick!!! Just goes to show ANYONE can be taken!!! That is why sites like this are so important for help in doing our homework. Getting back to the Vet... All jokes aside! He should be thanked for His service to his country! and landing the 6th of June on the beaches of Normandy means He is one of the Men that saw action many would run from!

                        Send Him our Thank's and warm regards Floris!! and Cheers to Him and all others that served for their countries on both sides of the lines!

                            Having had another look I think they're much newer than I thought before, like made yesterday. The smaller text LAH band was reminiscent of those around in the early>mid 70's.
