Not sure on this one with the gold looking pips or are they early brass? Opinions appreciated .

The look like they are gold, my main concern is that they were from something else applied to a blank rank tab etc.

Certainly silver plated brass pips were used by the SS, SA and NSKK. If yoiu can peek under thge pips, I am sure you will see the silver plating on the reverse.
