For your information, angles like these are a sure fire sign of a repro ............... even at 500 yards.

Do a careful comparison to the one in Hayes "SS Uniforms, Insignia & Accoutrements", page 174, or the article in Military Advisor.

There are two known original types for sure but the one posted here is not one of those.

The thread is going nowhere so maybe tell us, show us why you think what you post is real, any supporting evidence for this badge?

Robin, how about posting a picture of your badge, with the correct angles? This would be of great value to the forum.

Also a shot of both original types. Getting a silver in either of these types is tough. When it comes to bronze the one Robin shows and this one here are also very scarce with the majority of these badges are found in the thicker sunwheel style.

Someone (in Massachusetts) just offered me the badge below. Based on this this thread as well as a few others, I'm guessing it's the same badge as Robin circled for reference.

The only working knowledge of these things I had was that they were unmarked & had the four pins bent over on the back. I'm now getting the impression that the ends of the arms are supposed to line up with the chevrons of the other arm, sort-of like this //?

Clue me in if time permits.

                        Thanx,

                        Rick

                            Hello Rick.

                            That's another repro.

                            Sorry.

First and last posted in this thread are very obvious fakes.

They sure are but I hope no one could be fooled with the repro's shown. If you think these had a chance..umm There are much better fakes around also being sold as real of course.

There's at least one that I bet even Robin couldn't tell at 500 yards with his amazing eye sight, maybe about 5 yards now . I used to be able to tell all the fakes at 20 paces, but now its down to 15 with the better fakes!
