Why would there be a RZM stamp etcetera on a simple keychain/identification plate?

I am not so sure about that.

Key chain for example makes no sense because the closets in the SS-barracks had nothing to lock them with.

Maybe certain workers had Civil Defence/Company "diskette" and hung them on a peg to show if they are in or out of the factory/office??

Rather like the tags miners would take into the pit.

Those came In pairs with one given to the miner and the other hung on a peg board denoting who was 'Down'.

I read "BALO". BALO, certainly among other things, is a company finishing cast parts for the automotive industry.

That company was founded in 1961.

These were called a Tally and kept in the lamp room of the mine I worked at.

Nice one Ian, glad someone know's what I'm on about. I have a small collection of these as well as a few 'motty' tags.

                        Yours, Guy.

Probably a tag for workers at a top secret SS controlled Uranium mine during the war.

                          Sorry... but just wishful thinking.

                            SS markings

That's the type of markings found on early SS equipment. This is the coded maker and manufacturing date. Is it possible for a maker name/logo to be together with RZM code? I never saw it.
