    Intersting M43

    Hi All,

Have you guys ever seen this? Its a late war I think luft M43 with ss insignia on it. There is no evidence of other insignia and the ss insignia look to have been period applied.

    Thanks in advance!

its a Luftwaffe m-43 cap hard to say when the ss insignias were applied to the cap most likely post war but you never know, with out having the cap in hand very difficult to say
Give a man an opinion and you feed him for a day,
teach a man to use the "search" function on the WAF and you feed him for a lifetime.

A great many LW men were transferred into the W-SS late on so this may be one of theirs.

What would be a fair price to sell this cap for? I will put it in the e-stand.

it would be hard to prove that though

                  M-43

That's why it's impossible to even give a figure. If it really was worn by a HJ who transferred into the Waffen-SS, it's worth as much as ANY original SS M-43out there. But without actual provenance, it will always be a HJ cap with SS insignia, with it's entire history based only on conjecture. Besides that, the patina on the insignia doesn't seem to match, unless he attached the skull after being transferred to a smoke-free environment.

As I said before there is no evidence of a luftwaffe eagle being sewn on.

I don`t think the insignia is ww2 applyed. The eagle seems out of order of where it is to be to regulations also.

                        Insignia

The skull looks to be frayed around the edges. The eagle is a nice one however. Age toned.
